A good June 1935 First Edition, first printing copy of W. E Johns' history of aviation from the first balloon ascent in 1783 to the Great Australian Race in 1934.

The following first printing points have been confirmed - 32 page undated catalogue at rear (comprising 30 numbered pages of books plus two un-numbered pages of publisher's contact information); all previously published W. E. Johns' books on the reverse of the half title or in the publisher's catalogue are pre-1935 with the exception of The Air VCs (March), The Black Peril (March) and The Raid (April).

Book Condition - Good: Hardback, small 8vo, 232 pages with 32 mono illustrations. Light to moderate general wear and spotting to the original light blue boards, spine faded but black lettering and sundial logo still very clear and fresh, securely bound, no previous ownership inscriptions, light to moderate toning and foxing to endpapers and paper edges, internally very clean and clear in an excellent condition throughout on lightly toned paper with some occasional light foxing. No dust jacket.
