A Fair rebound copy of this very hard to find First Edition, first printing of William Jevons' follow-up to his 1870 classic "Elementary Lessons On Logic" - this volume mainly comprising a collection of examples, questions and answers plus exercises in various branches of logic (please note the exercises do not have any answers provided). Rebound in plain green cloth with title and author's name on the spine but no publisher stated - the publisher's ads at the rear are also not present in this copy. An acclaimed economist, statistician and logician, Jevons was the first economist to define the theory of "marginal" (or "final") utility in his classic 1871 work "The Theory Of Political Economy".

Book Condition - Fair: Hardback, 12mo (approx 7 inches / 18 cm tall), xxviii + 304 pages. Significant general wear and rubbing to the green boards and spine (one inch / 2.5cm cloth split to base of spine adjoining rear board with a smaller split developing at top of spine), securely bound with hinges fully intact, no previous ownership inscriptions but paper residue from a previously removed (circulating library?) bookplate at the top of the front pastedown and intermittent pencilled annotations to the text (a couple instances of light ink annotation / smudging), moderate foxing to endpapers and adjoining couple of pages, intermittent moderate to significant internal soiling, overall internally Fair+ on lightly toned paper in a clear and very easily readable condition throughout. No dust jacket.
