A Good+ First Edition copy of this beautifully illustrated journal of the author's journey to Kashmir. Internally Very Good with all twenty four colour plates and colour folding map at rear confirmed present with several pages still unopened.
Book Condition - Good+: Hardback, 8vo (approx 9 inches / 23 cm tall), xii + 342 pages and two pages of publisher's advertisements at rear. Light to moderate general wear to the original maroon boards and spine (moderate rubbing to a couple of the corner tips, bruising to spine extremities with a couple tiny cloth splits, light fading to spine cloth, moderate discolouration and a couple small spots of soiling to the rear board), gilt spine lettering a little faded but still clear and bright, securely bound, no previous ownership inscriptions, top edge maroon, toning to rough cut text block edges, significant toning / foxing to plain endpapers (thereafter only occasional light internal foxing), a couple very light finger smudges, otherwise internally clean and clear in a Very Good Minus condition throughout. No dust jacket.
