A near-Very Good First Edition copy of this hard to find collection of stories including Henty's "Burton & Son; or, Found on the Shore".
Book Condition - Good+: Hardback, 12mo (approx 7.5 inches / 19 cm tall), 400 pages with eight monochrome illustrations including the tissue guarded frontispiece all confirmed present (frontis illustration in Good Minus condition with moderate soiling to the plain fore-edge and associated light soiling to the edge of the tissue guard and Title Page; the other seven illustrations are all in Good+ to Very Good condition).
Moderate general wear, rubbing and soiling to the original pale blue illustrated boards and spine, securely bound with hinges fully intact, a couple instances of moderate internal separation but text block firmly bound with no loose pages, attractive school presentation plate on front pastedown (dated 1908), light to moderate toning and soiling to text block edges, some instances of top corner creasing (most notable to the first story), very occasional light finger smudges, some printer's ink spotting / smudging to the last couple of pages and part of the text block fore-edge, otherwise internally Very Good in a very clean and clear condition throughout. No dust jacket.
