An excellent copy of this very hard to find 1776 First Edtion of Lord Kames' acclaimed work on the application of scientific methodologies to farming practises. In an excellent condition throughout with all pages and plates present, fully rebound in calf leather with five raised bands.
Book Condition - Very Good: Hardback, xxvi plus 409 pages + two pages of publisher's advertisements, all three original plates present in good condition. Light to moderate general wear to the rebound leather boards and spine, securely bound, Scion College Library stamp on rear of title page, "(by Henry Home") added in neat antique script on the title page, internally very clean with occasional light to moderate foxing, significant offsetting to several pages (as photographed), half inch closed tear to fore-edge of page 1 (text not affected), toning to prelims and publisher's catalogue pages, small area of chipping with tiny amount of loss to lower fore-edge of title page (text not affected). Overall an in an excellent state of preservation for a book now approaching 250 years old that was originally published in the middle of the Agricultural Revolution.
