A near-Very Good Second Edition copy of this beautifully illustrated guide to France in the early 1900s. First published by A & C Black in 1914 as part of their "20 Shilling Series" with 32 illustrations this Second Edition was issued four years later with the number of illustrations increased to 64.
Book Condition - Very Good Minus: Hardback, 8vo (approx 9 inches / 22.5 cm tall), ix + 219 pages with sixty four tissue guarded colour illustrations and map of France at the rear all confirmed present in Good+ to Very Good condition (some very light toning).
Moderate general wear to the original illustrated maroon boards and spine (fading to spine, moderate bruising to spine extremities and top of rear board, a couple spots of light soiling), securely bound, owner's very neat signature on front free endpaper (dated 1923), neat annotation to illustrations list to correct a page numbering error, moderate shelf soiling to text block bottom edge with toning to endpapers and text block edges, internally Very Good+ in a beautifully clean and clear condition throughout. No dust jacket.
