A Very Good reprinted edition of William Herbert's classic botanical work. With a lengthy introductory essay including biography of William Herbert and bibliography by Hamilton P. Traub of the American Plant Life Society.

Book Condition - Very Good: Hardback, 8vo (approx 9.5 inches / 24.5 cm tall), comprising a 93 page Introduction followed by a 428 page reprint of Herbert's 1837 text with forty eight mono plates of Herbert's illustrations at the rear. Light general wear to the dark green boards and spine, gilt spine lettering very clear and bright, securely bound with hinges fully intact, patch of light moisture staining to top edge of rear pastedown and associated very light to moderate rippling to text and plate top edges from approximately page 375 onwards (almost no internal discolouration), otherwise internally beautifully clean and clear with very light paper edge toning in a Very Good condition throughout. No dust jacket.
