A good copy of this romantic tale by De La Motte Fouque beautifully illustrated and signed by Arthur Rackham. All 15 plates are confirmed present in excellent condition complete with their captioned tissue guards. This copy is number 754 of the Deluxe full vellum Limited Edition of 1,000 signed copies produced for 'Great Britain, Ireland and the Colonies'.

Book Condition - Good: Hardback, 136 pages. Gilt front board lettering and vignette clear and bright, spine faded but still clear with a small dent just below the title, moderate foxing and soiling to the vellum boards and spine, silk ties no longer present, light to moderate bumping to spine extremities and corners. Top edge gilt, fore and bottom edges rough cut, securely bound, neat gift inscription on the front pastedown (dated December 1st 1909), internally very clean and clear in Very Good condition throughout with some light foxing and paper edge toning (as is common with this edition foxing / toning is most notable opposite the plain brown endpapers and the reverse of the brown paper sheets used to mount the plates).

Overall a lovely signed copy of this beautifully illustrated volume in the much sought after Limited Edition format.
