A near-Good+ First Edition copy of this beautiful collection of Cecily M. Barker's flower fairy illustrations. Originally published in three volumes (Flower Fairies of the Spring / Summer / Autumn) each comprising 24 colour plates and brought together for the first time in this edition. No publishing history but believed to have been published c1925.
Book Condition - Good+ / Good: Hardback, 12mo (approx 7.5 inches /18.5 cm tall), 93 pages plus 72 colour plates all confirmed present in Good to Very Good condition (colours beautifully clear and fresh, light border toning, occasional light foxing / finger smudging to plain edges).
Light to moderate general wear and moderate soiling to the original green boards and spine, gilt spine and front board lettering / illustration faded but still very clear, securely bound but front hinge a little loose at the half title with a tiny amount of webbing beginning to show, a couple instances of very early internal separation but no loose pages, moderate foxing to half title, no previous ownership inscriptions, some very light to moderate soiling to the first few text pages (as far as page 23 - most notably to the un-numbered first text page of the Spring fairies section), occasional light general foxing and finger smudging, otherwise internally very clean and clear in a Good+ condition throughout. No dust jacket.
Overall a lovely copy of this very scarce collection.
