A near-Very Good copy of this wonderfully illustrated reprinting of Izaak Walton's classic work. First published (without Arthur Racckham's illustrations) by John Lane in 1897, the text in this edition is based on Izaak Walton's final 1676 revision.
Book Condition - Very Good-: Hardback, Large 8vo (approx 10 inches / 25 cm tall), 224 pages plus twelve colour plates on gloss paper (all confirmed present in excellent condition with their captioned tissue guards) and further mono illustrations within the text. Moderate general wear and spine / edge fading to the original green boards, front board gilt lettering and leaping fish illustration wonderfully clear and bright, securely bound with hinges fully intact, no previous ownership inscriptions, top edge gilt, internally beautifully clean and clear in a near-Fine condition throughout. A lovely copy. No dust jacket.
