An excellent copy of this extremely rare First Edition of Cyril James' acclaimed history of the Haitian Revolution. Internally near-Fine with a near-Very Good, unclipped dust jacket.
Book Condition - Very Good-: Hardback, xvi + 328 pages. Illustrated with eight very lightly toned b/w plates (incuding the frontispiece) plus folding map in a wonderfully clear and fresh condition. Light general wear and rubbing to the original black boards and spine, very faint general board spotting and edge fading with a further light blemish to spine and a small white spot on rear board, gilt spine lettering clear and bright, securely bound, no previous ownership inscriptions, top edge slightly dusted, light to moderate toning and foxing to endpapers and paper edges, otherwise internally very clean and clear in a near-Fine condition throughout.
Jacket Condition - Good+: Light to moderate edge wear and chipping with a tiny amount of loss, light to moderate general toning and sunning to spine, light moisture stain and finger soiling to rear cover, not price clipped. Now fully enclosed in a protective Trimsleeve library cover.
Overall a lovely copy of this highly collectible volume.
